Synopsis

In the gripping conclusion to William Gibson's Bridge trilogy, "All Tomorrow's Parties," ex-cop Berry Rydell is drawn back into the shadowy world of data-diviner Colin Laney. Set in a post-earthquake San Francisco, particularly the sprawling shantytown known as the Bridge, Rydell is tasked with a dangerous, cryptic assignment: to attract the notice of an unknown individual. Laney, who possesses an almost supernatural ability to discern patterns in the deluge of global information, hints at an impending, world-altering event. When a mysterious package belonging to Laney falls into Rydell's hands, making him a target for various dangerous factions, he is thrust into a desperate flight for survival. He seeks refuge within the intricate, forgotten corners of the Bridge, a place where individuals disappear and await the 'end of the world' Laney has foretold. The novel intricately weaves themes of technological prophecy, societal decay, and human connection against a vivid, near-future backdrop, solidifying Gibson’s reputation as a visionary storyteller.
