Synopsis

Detective Renée Ballard, working the lonely graveyard shift for the LAPD, encounters an unexpected figure from the department's past: former homicide detective Harry Bosch. Bosch is obsessed with an unsolved cold case—the brutal murder of 15-year-old Daisy Clayton over a decade ago—a case that still haunts him. Though officially retired, Bosch's relentless pursuit of justice leads him to Ballard, who, despite her own struggles and the bureaucratic hurdles of the LAPD, finds herself drawn into the chilling details of Daisy's murder. As they form an unlikely and tense partnership, combining Ballard's modern detective skills with Bosch's seasoned, albeit unorthodox, methods, they delve deep into a past filled with secrets and tragedy. Their investigation quickly uncovers new leads and dangers, revealing that Daisy's story is far from over, and the truth could put Ballard herself in mortal peril. "Dark Sacred Night" masterfully weaves a gripping tale of obsession, justice, and the enduring human cost of unresolved violence, cementing the iconic collaboration between two of Michael Connelly's most beloved characters.
