Synopsis

In the gripping continuation of the Runelords saga, King Gaborn Val Orden grapples with the devastating aftermath of the battle at Carris, finding himself mysteriously stripped of the magical powers that once defined his reign and protected his people. As his kingdom is ravaged by relentless reavers, Gaborn discovers their malevolence and cunning far exceed his darkest imaginings. Desperate to safeguard his land, his last hope rests on the shoulders of Averan, a nine-year-old Wizardborn apprentice to the earth wizard Binnesman. Despite her youth and fears, Gaborn must persuade her to lead him into a perilous confrontation with the reaver lord of the underworld. Meanwhile, the ailing Wolf Lord, Raj Ahten, faces his own existential crisis as a reaver horde decimates his homeland. Forced to confront his formidable enemy, Raj Ahten must make an agonizing choice: sacrifice his humanity to achieve victory or face certain, ultimate defeat.
