Synopsis

In a post-apocalyptic Pittsburgh, rendered uninhabitable by a catastrophic event, John Dominic Blaxton exists within the Archive – a meticulously reconstructed virtual reality of the city and its past inhabitants. Here, he endlessly revisits memories of his deceased wife and unborn child, a poignant cycle of grief and despair. Dominic's grim occupation involves investigating unresolved deaths preserved within the Archive before the city's destruction. His latest case plunges him into a chilling mystery: the apparent murder of a woman whose digital existence is being systematically erased from the Archive. Driven by an obsessive need to uncover her identity and fate, Dominic follows a perilous trail that blurs the lines between the virtual and the real. As he delves deeper, risking his sanity and very existence, he confronts the terrifying truth hidden within the illusion, challenging the fabric of his world and his own perception of reality. This is a "wild mash-up of Raymond Chandler, Philip K. Dick, and William S. Burroughs" that promises a mind-bending journey.

Critical Reception

"Praised as a visionary and bleakly gorgeous romp, 'Tomorrow and Tomorrow' has been hailed as a significant work that masterfully merges near-future cyberpunk with a profound meditation on technology, mental illness, and a cynical, outrageous mystery, proving that "if books like this are the future of fiction, I'm not afraid for books at all.""
