Synopsis

Sheila Webb, a typist from a temp agency, arrives for an appointment at a seemingly ordinary house in Wilbraham Crescent to find a grim surprise: a man's body slumped behind a sofa. Surrounding the deceased are six clocks, all stopped at precisely 4:13. The blind resident, Miss Pebmarsh, vehemently denies knowing the man. Before the police can fully investigate, the body mysteriously vanishes, along with some of the clocks, adding an layer of baffling impossibility to the crime. Young Secret Service agent Colin Lamb, who has a connection to the case through a seemingly unrelated investigation, brings the bizarre details to the attention of Hercule Poirot. Though Poirot never visits the actual crime scene, he masterfully applies his 'little grey cells' to dissect the contradictory evidence, the peculiar clocks, and the intricate web of aliases and motives. As the investigation unfolds, what begins as a singular murder unravels into a far more complex conspiracy with international implications.
