Tracy Hickman is an American fantasy author, best known for his collaborative works with Margaret Weis, most notably the Dragonlance series. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1955, Hickman began his writing career after serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is recognized for his intricate world-building, complex magic systems, and exploration of philosophical and theological themes within the fantasy genre. At TSR, Inc., he met Margaret Weis, and together they created the legendary Dragonlance saga, which expanded from a series of modules for Dungeons & Dragons into a vast literary universe. Beyond Dragonlance, Hickman is also known for co-creating The Death Gate Cycle and The Darksword Trilogy. His solo work includes 'The Annotated Dragonlance Chronicles' and 'The Bronze Canticles.'
