Synopsis

In the awe-inspiring, ancient city of Petra, a seemingly natural death quickly becomes a chilling murder investigation. The victim is Mrs. Boynton, a tyrannical American matriarch whose cruel psychological dominion over her stepchildren and daughter has made her an object of intense hatred among her own family. Her sudden demise, marked only by a tiny puncture wound, immediately raises Hercule Poirot's suspicions. Having previously overheard a chilling declaration—"You do see, don't you, that she's got to be killed?"—Poirot is keenly aware that everyone connected to Mrs. Boynton had ample motive to wish her dead. With only a twenty-four-hour window before the family's departure, Poirot must navigate a labyrinth of deep-seated resentments, hidden secrets, and complex family dynamics. As he delves into the psychological landscape of the Boynton clan, he uncovers a carefully orchestrated crime, challenging his deductive powers to pinpoint the killer among a host of plausible suspects in this classic, exotic whodunit.
