Synopsis

Born into the opulent palace of Crete, Ariadne's childhood is steeped in the grand tales of gods and goddesses. Yet, beneath the very floors she walks, the monstrous Minotaur, her half-brother, roams, demanding a gruesome tribute of human sacrifices. When the hero Theseus arrives with the intent to slay the beast, Ariadne doesn't perceive him as a threat. Instead, she sees in the handsome stranger a promise of love and liberation. Blinded by this burgeoning affection, Ariadne risks everything, defying the gods, betraying her family, and abandoning her homeland to aid Theseus. But will her monumental decision lead to a happy ending? Jennifer Saint's 'Ariadne' masterfully reclaims the narratives of the overlooked women of Greek mythology, who, despite their profound struggles, fought for a better world. This captivating and evocative novel stands as a compelling modern epic, offering a fresh perspective on ancient tales.
