Synopsis

In "Bloody Acquisitions," the third installment of Drew Hayes' acclaimed satirical series, Fred, the unassuming vampire accountant, finds his remarkably normal undead life thrown into disarray. Having finally established a thriving parahuman accounting practice, a stable relationship, and a loyal circle of friends in Winslow, Colorado, Fred's existence is far more pleasant than his human days ever were. However, his tranquil routine is shattered by the arrival of a new, formidable vampire clan setting its sights on Winslow. These new arrivals are notorious for their intolerance of outsiders, posing an immediate and severe threat to Fred and his community. As Fred juggles the burgeoning demands of his unique business and strives to maintain his personal life, he's forced to confront the escalating territorial dispute. His already complicated world is further entangled by a colorful cast of characters, including clandestine parahuman enclaves, fanatical vampire hunters, bickering mages, and an impossibly clumsy spy. With his city, friends, and livelihood at stake, Fred must deploy all his understated cunning to navigate the treacherous landscape. He ultimately faces an impossible choice: abandon the home he's built, or rise to challenge an entire rival vampire clan, potentially risking everything he holds dear.

Critical Reception
