Synopsis

In C. J. Box's gripping Joe Pickett thriller, 'Shadows Reel,' the past casts a deadly pall over the present. Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett is drawn into a chilling case when a routine poaching call leads to the discovery of a local man brutally tortured and murdered. The investigation quickly spirals into something far more sinister, intertwining with a mysterious package received by Joe's wife, Marybeth: the photo album of an infamous Nazi, purportedly taken by a Wyoming soldier during WWII. The sinister question arises – who possesses the second, equally dangerous album, and why has its existence resurfaced now? As a second murder rocks their community, Joe and Marybeth race against time to unravel the complex web of secrets before they, or their daughters, become the next targets. Meanwhile, Joe's loyal and lethal associate, falconer Nate Romanowski, embarks on a relentless personal quest for vengeance, hunting down the man who attacked his wife, setting the stage for an explosive and unforgettable final showdown.
