Crusade

In Taylor Anderson's 'Crusade,' Lieutenant Commander Matthew Reddy and the crew of the USS Walker find themselves further entangled in the perilous alternate world where they landed after a WWII rift. Having forged an uneasy alliance with the peaceful, cat-like Lemurians against the brutal, reptilian Grik, Reddy faces overwhelming odds. The Walker, though technologically superior, is a single ship against an empire. Hope rekindles with the miraculous discovery of the USS Mahan, the Walker's sister ship, also transported through the rift. Together, Reddy believes, they can train the Lemurians to fight and turn the tide. However, their strategic advantage is swiftly jeopardized by a horrifying revelation: the Japanese battleship Amagi, the very vessel the Walker was fleeing in the Pacific, has also crossed into this world.
