Synopsis

Caught in the tumultuous early days of World War II, Lieutenant Commander Matthew Patrick Reddy and the crew of the aging USS Walker find themselves in an impossible retreat from superior Japanese forces. Seeking refuge in a furious squall, they emerge not into safety, but into a world utterly unlike their own. Familiar landmasses are distorted, oceans teem with monstrous, unknown marine life, and on land, creatures resembling dinosaurs roam free. Reddy and his men have been hurled into an alternate Earth, where humanity as they know it never evolved. Instead, two other intelligent, warring species dominate the planet: the Lemurians, an advanced, lemur-like people, and the Grik, a brutal, reptilian race. Armed with their advanced 20th-century technology, the Walker's crew holds the power to utterly transform this primitive conflict. They must quickly grapple with the moral implications of their presence and choose which side to support, knowing their decision will irrevocably alter the fate of an entire world and decide who will emerge victorious from the storm.
