The High Crusade

In the year 1345, as Sir Roger Baron de Tourneville prepares his forces to aid King Edward III against France, an utterly bewildering event transpires: a colossal silver starship descends from the heavens, landing in a humble pasture near Ansby, England. This vessel belongs to the Wersgorix, a race of alien conquerors well-versed in subjugating primitive worlds. Having surveyed Earth from orbit, they initiate their standard invasion protocol, armed with advanced weaponry like guided missiles and nuclear devices, but utterly bereft of hand-to-hand combat skills. Unfortunately for them, they've chosen to invade not mere primitives, but a determined band of Englishmen. The ensuing clash sees the Wersgorix all but annihilated, with only one survivor. Seizing this extraordinary opportunity, the pragmatic and ambitious Sir Roger envisions a new destiny: commandeering the alien ship, first to aid his King in France, then to embark on a grand crusade to the Holy Land. What begins as a local skirmish quickly escalates into an interstellar saga, as medieval knights, led by a shrewd baron, find themselves navigating the cosmos and confronting alien empires, all in the service of God and England.
