Synopsis

Georgie McCool, a successful TV writer, finds her marriage to Neal on the brink of collapse. Neal, feeling neglected by Georgie's all-consuming career, takes their daughters to his family for Christmas without her, leaving Georgie alone to work on a last-minute project. Distraught and isolated, Georgie discovers a mysterious, old-fashioned telephone in her childhood bedroom that seems to connect her to the past – specifically, to Neal during their early courtship. Suddenly presented with the impossible opportunity to communicate with her younger husband, Georgie grapples with the ethical dilemmas and emotional turmoil of altering her history. Can she use this magical landline to fix the foundational cracks in their relationship, or will interfering with the past only make things worse in the present? As she relives pivotal moments through these anachronistic phone calls, Georgie is forced to confront her own choices, priorities, and the true nature of love and compromise. "Landline" is a poignant and humorous exploration of what it means to grow together, grow apart, and rediscover the reasons you fell in love in the first place, asking if it's ever too late to find your way back to someone you thought you'd lost.

Critical Reception
