Synopsis

In "A Ticket to the Boneyard," Lawrence Block plunges his iconic private investigator, Matt Scudder, into a chilling gauntlet of vengeance. Years after Scudder put him behind bars, the psychopathic James Leo Motley is released from prison, vowing to make Scudder's life a living hell. Motley's twisted vendetta isn't limited to Matt; he systematically targets everyone connected to the former NYPD detective – friends, lovers, and even strangers who merely share his name. As the body count rises and the streets of New York become a stage for Motley's gruesome spree, Scudder, freshly grappling with his sobriety, finds himself in a desperate race against time. The emotional and physical toll threatens to unravel everything he has fought for, pushing him to confront not only a relentless killer but also the demons of his own past in a city where no one is safe.
