Synopsis

In Keigo Higashino's gripping 'Silent Parade,' the tranquil facade of Tokyo's an annual street festival is shattered by a meticulously planned murder. Shion Kanamori, a popular young girl, vanishes, only for her skeletal remains to be discovered three years later. The prime suspect, Joji Hasunuma, a man with a chilling history of evading justice in similar cases, including one nearly two decades prior, walks free due to lack of concrete evidence, his impunity a cruel taunt to the victim's family. Chief Inspector Kusanagi, haunted by Hasunuma's past and present crimes, finds himself at an impasse. However, during the very parade that brings the community together, Hasunuma is found dead. The circumstances are suspiciously convenient, yet every potential avenger boasts an ironclad alibi. With a series of seemingly impossible murders, Kusanagi turns once more to his brilliant college friend, Physics professor and 'Detective Galileo' Manabu Yukawa, whose unparalleled deductive reasoning is the only hope of unraveling the intricate web of alibis and silence, and bringing the true perpetrators to light.
