The Darkest Minds

Synopsis

Ten-year-old Ruby wakes up with a terrifying secret: she's one of the few children to survive a mysterious pandemic, emerging with dangerous, uncontrollable psychic abilities. Imprisoned in Thurmond, a brutal government 'rehabilitation camp,' Ruby hides the true extent of her powers for years. At sixteen, her secret is exposed, forcing her to flee. She joins a makeshift family of fellow escapees: the silent Zu, the brilliant but cynical Chubs, and the charismatic leader, Liam. Together, they embark on a perilous journey to East River, a rumored safe haven for powered youth. Pursued by a ruthless government organization eager to exploit Ruby's abilities, they must navigate a broken world while Ruby grapples with the traumatic consequences of her past and a burgeoning connection with Liam that she fears will only bring him harm. Their quest for freedom will demand unimaginable sacrifices, forcing Ruby to confront a terrible choice that could define their future.
