Synopsis

Valdemar, a realm once safeguarded by the powerful magic of its Herald-Mages, now faces utter ruin. The kingdom reels from the relentless war waged by Karse, its king on the verge of death, and a master of dark, forbidden magic gathers his forces for a devastating final strike. Vanyel, Valdemar's most potent Herald-Mage, finds himself alone against this encroaching darkness, the last of his kind and the primary target of the malevolent power. A harrowing dream vision has revealed the terrifying destiny that awaits him and his Companion, Yfandes, should they confront the dark master's challenge. The stakes are absolute: if either falters, the dream will become a horrifying reality, demanding the ultimate sacrifice from both Valdemar and its final Herald-Mage. Vanyel must now choose between a perilous confrontation that promises either salvation or unimaginable despair.
