Synopsis

In the vibrant and often absurd world of 'Be Cool,' Elmore Leonard masterfully brings back his iconic character, Chili Palmer, the former loan shark turned Hollywood producer. Fresh off a box-office flop that tarnished his golden touch, Chili is desperate for a comeback. A seemingly routine power lunch with record executive Tommy Athens takes a violent turn, ending in Athens's murder and thrusting Chili into the treacherous landscape of the music industry. Rather than fleeing the danger, Chili, with his trademark cool and opportunistic eye, sees not peril, but possibility for his next big film project. He quickly finds himself managing Linda Moon, a talented but overlooked singer stuck in a Spice Girls cover band, and navigates a labyrinth of Russian gangsters, hip-hop moguls, and ambitious pop divas. As Chili manipulates the volatile egos and dangerous players around him, he orchestrates Linda's rise to stardom while simultaneously crafting the plot for his next movie based on the unfolding chaos. 'Be Cool' is a witty, stylish, and action-packed ride through the cutthroat worlds of crime and entertainment, where survival means staying sharp and always keeping an eye on the next big score.

Critical Reception
