Synopsis

Chili Palmer, a Miami loan shark with an unlikely passion for movies, finds his life taking an unexpected turn when he travels to Hollywood to collect a debt from a deadbeat B-movie producer, Harry Zimm. Instead of just shaking down Zimm, Chili's sharp wit, calm demeanor, and surprisingly sophisticated understanding of film begin to open doors in the cutthroat world of Tinseltown. What starts as a collection trip quickly evolves into an audacious attempt by Chili to produce a movie based on his own colorful, mob-infused experiences. He navigates a labyrinth of eccentric characters, from a washed-up scream queen and an intimidating movie star to rival gangsters and suspicious studio executives, all while maintaining his cool and often turning the tables on those who underestimate him. Blurring the lines between real-life crime and cinematic ambition, Chili's journey is a masterclass in negotiation, intimidation, and pure, unadulterated moxie, as he proves that the rules of the street are surprisingly applicable to the movie business.
