Though he cherishes this hard-won peace, Fitz is haunted by the lingering absence of his extraordinary friend, the Fool, whose influence profoundly shaped him. This domestic tranquility is shattered when menacing, pale-skinned strangers appear, casting a sinister shadow that links directly to Fitz’s hidden history and threatens his future. To protect the life he has meticulously built and those he holds dear, the former assassin must once again confront the skills and dark legacy he thought he had left behind, drawing him back into a world of intrigue and peril.
