Tribune Marcus Scaurus, a battle-hardened commander of a Roman legion, finds his world irrevocably altered when his entire contingent is inexplicably ripped from ancient Earth and deposited into a realm governed by arcane magic and ancient empires. Disoriented but resolute, Scaurus must navigate a world where Roman discipline and engineering clash dramatically with potent magic, shape-shifting creatures, and unforeseen political machinations. As the Roman legion, famed for its order and martial prowess, confronts a chaotic landscape of magical warfare and divine interference, Scaurus is compelled to challenge Sphrantzes.
