The Warlord of the Air

Captain Oswald Bastable, a British officer from 1902's North East Frontier, is violently propelled into an alternate 1973. He finds a world transformed: a serene, seemingly utopian globe ruled by a benevolent British Empire, its vast dominion maintained by majestic airships and the wise leadership of King Edward VIII. Peace and prosperity prevail, but Bastable's cherished Victorian ideals are swiftly shattered as he confronts the stark realities beneath this tranquil surface. He stumbles upon a burgeoning anarchist movement that vehemently challenges the Empire's 'benign' facade. Drawn into their radical ranks, Bastable is forced to question the true cost of imperial stability and the complex moral ambiguities of a world that denies his past. This mind-bending journey not only marks him as a perpetual nomad across chaotic multiverses but also sets in motion a series of events far more devastating and profound than he could have anticipated, forcing him to grapple with the potential responsibility of dismantling a globally established, if flawed, peace.
