Synopsis

After a year of enlightening travels, Iphiginia Bright returns to England only to find her Aunt Zoe ensnared by a ruthless blackmailer. Determined to rescue her aunt, Iphiginia devises a daring plan: she will transform herself into a legendary beauty, mimicking figures like Cleopatra, and infiltrate London Society as the dazzling, mysterious mistress of the infamous Earl of Masters, Marcus Valerius Cloud. Rumor has it the Earl himself has vanished due to the blackmailer, making Iphiginia's charade the perfect cover to flush out the culprit. Overnight, the former schoolmistress becomes a sensation, attracting numerous admirers. However, her carefully orchestrated plan takes an unexpected turn when the Earl of Masters strides into a shimmering ballroom, coolly reclaiming his 'mistress.' Arrogant, attractive, and undeniably seductive, Marcus is everything the rumors claim. Though initially wary, Iphiginia finds herself drawn to him, and he, intrigued, agrees to play along. Yet, the Earl has his own agenda: to tease and tempt Iphiginia until her calculated deception blossoms into a genuine connection, making her more than just his mistress in name.
