Synopsis

Steve and Diane Nailer envision a peaceful new beginning in Northwood, a tranquil community nestled beneath Mount Sugarloaf, far from Boston's urban sprawl. With two children and a third on the way, their new home, bordering an old forest, promises an idyllic family life. However, the path through the woods leads not just to an abandoned Victorian mansion, but to a chilling legacy: the town's former mortuary, now a locus of ancient, malevolent power. Unbeknownst to the Nailers, Northwood is under the spell of Eleanor Grimm, a figure of terrifying cunning and unfathomable magic. Drawing strength from dark fairy tales, Grimm has bewitched the town's adults, rendering them oblivious to her sinister agenda: the abduction of innocent children. For over five decades, she has been spiriting away Northwood's youth, and now, with the Nailers' arrival, their son and daughter become her newest targets in a town where childhood innocence is a commodity for a creature driven by the darkest of enchantments.

Critical Reception

"Critics hail it as a chilling modern fairy tale, weaving classic horror tropes with a deeply unsettling exploration of corrupted innocence and small-town dread."
