Synopsis

Set in 1558 England, "The Perilous Gard" introduces Kate Sutton, a spirited young woman whose defiance leads to her banishment to the remote and ancient castle of Elvenwood. There, she finds herself entangled in the chilling mysteries surrounding the castle's reclusive inhabitants and the strange disappearances tied to local folklore. As Kate navigates the oppressive atmosphere and the aloof demeanor of the castle's residents, she uncovers a hidden, subterranean world – a labyrinthine realm where the last practitioners of ancient Druidic magic secretly persist, clinging to their old ways in a rapidly changing world. Kate's courage and wit are tested as she races against time to unravel a dark secret involving a ritual sacrifice, a stolen child, and the clash between old pagan beliefs and emerging Christian faith, ultimately risking her own life to save an innocent.
