Synopsis

Detective Sergeant Logan MacRae finds himself exiled to Aberdeen's infamous 'Screw-up Squad' after a disastrous sting operation leaves a fellow officer dead and his career in tatters. Desperate to salvage what remains of his reputation, MacRae is handed a case no one else wants: the brutal murder of a prostitute. As he delves into Aberdeen's grim underworld, he uncovers a labyrinth of depravity, addiction, and secrets. The deeper he digs, the more apparent it becomes that this isn't just a random act of violence, and the killer is far more cunning and dangerous than initially presumed. Battling bureaucratic indifference, hostile colleagues, and his own lingering guilt, MacRae must navigate the city's dark underbelly to bring justice to a victim society has largely forgotten, all while facing the ghosts of his past and the stark reality that his own life might be the next on the line.
