Synopsis

In Stuart MacBride's 'Blind Eye,' DS Logan McRae finds himself caught in a web of police corruption, cold cases, and gruesome new murders. When Detective Inspector Steel, a colleague renowned for his ruthless tactics, commits suicide, Logan is tasked with cleaning out his office, a task that quickly unearths uncomfortable truths about Steel's past and questionable methods. Meanwhile, a fresh and particularly brutal murder case lands on Logan's desk, one that bears an eerie resemblance to an unsolved crime from years ago, linking it back to Steel's suspicious history. As Logan digs deeper, he finds himself under the watchful eye of Professional Standards, whose investigation into Steel's conduct inadvertently shines a spotlight on Logan and his team. Navigating the murky waters of internal affairs while hunting a relentless killer, McRae must confront the uncomfortable reality that justice, much like the blind eye of the law, can sometimes be selective, and the line between right and wrong is often blurred in the gritty underbelly of Aberdeen.

Critical Reception
