The festive atmosphere, however, is brutally shattered by a horrific scream and a crash, leading to the discovery of Simeon brutally murdered in his locked bedroom, his throat savagely cut. Amidst a house filled with resentment and suspicion, Hercule Poirot, by chance in the area, is called in to investigate. He quickly uncovers a tangled web of family secrets, past grievances, and hidden motives, realizing that every member of the Lee family had ample reason to wish Simeon dead. As Poirot meticulously sifts through the complex alibis and veiled animosities, he must discern which of the many disgruntled relatives turned a special occasion into a festive bloodbath, exposing the dark underbelly of a seemingly respectable English household.
