Synopsis

Twelve years after escaping downriver with her two children, Malorie continues to navigate a world ravaged by unseen entities that drive anyone who glimpses them to madness and extreme violence. Blindfolds remain their only safeguard, a thin barrier between sanity and utter chaos. Survival hinges on strict adherence to Malorie's rules: no idleness, never remove the blindfold, and above all, never look. Yet, a glimmer of hope pierces their desolate existence when an unbelievable message arrives, suggesting that beloved individuals presumed long dead might still be alive. This revelation compels Malorie to embark on a perilous journey once more, risking her children's lives in a landscape fraught with unknown dangers. Her fears extend beyond the creatures themselves, encompassing deceptive humans claiming to have captured them, monstrous inventions, perilous new ideas, and unsettling rumors that the entities have evolved to become even more terrifying. This quest for a lost connection forces Malorie to confront the deepest horrors of her world, both seen and unseen.
