Synopsis

In Rick Yancey's 'The 5th Wave,' Earth has been ravaged by four devastating alien attacks, each more insidious than the last. The 1st wave plunged the world into darkness, the 2nd unleashed catastrophic tsunamis, the 3rd spread a deadly plague, and the 4th saw the arrival of 'The Others' – seemingly human beings tasked with hunting down the remaining survivors. Now, as the 5th wave dawns, 16-year-old Cassie Sullivan is among the last few humans, haunted by the loss of her family and desperately searching for her younger brother, Sammy, who was taken by the aliens. Her life is governed by one rule: trust no one. This belief is challenged when she encounters the mysterious and captivating Evan Walker, who saves her life. Evan represents her only hope of rescuing Sammy, but his enigmatic nature forces Cassie to confront the profound question of who to trust in a world where humanity's survival hangs by a thread and the lines between friend and foe are terrifyingly blurred.
