Against this backdrop, three women's stories intertwine: Damaya, a young orogene discovered and sent for training; Syenite, a powerful orogene tasked with a dangerous mission; and Essun, a mother whose world is shattered by personal tragedy amidst the global devastation. As their paths converge and diverge across millennia, they uncover the dark secrets of the Stillness, the true nature of their powers, and the profound betrayals that shaped their world. This is a tale of survival, revenge, and the fight for freedom in a broken world.
