Synopsis

Advertising artist Si Morley feels a deep dissatisfaction with his mundane 20th-century life. When he's recruited into a clandestine government project exploring time travel, he seizes the opportunity, drawn by the allure of escape and a compelling mystery: a charred letter hinting at a tragic death and a world-ending fire. Si embarks on a journey to January 1882 in New York City, immersing himself in a vibrant, bustling metropolis vastly different from his own. He discovers a world teeming with horse-drawn sleighs, open-air markets, and a waterfront untouched by skyscrapers. What begins as a fascinating historical expedition evolves into a profound personal dilemma when he falls in love with a woman from the past. Faced with a choice between returning to his modern existence or forging a new life in the 19th century, Si's adventure becomes a timeless exploration of love, longing, and the allure of a bygone era.
