Synopsis

In a hilariously bleak and terrifyingly prescient near-future America, society teeters on the brink of collapse, consumed by consumerism, surveillance, and digital narcissism. Lenny Abramov, a middle-aged, anachronistic intellectual, clings to the past through physical books (now 'printed, bound media artifacts') and his personal, analog diary – a relic in an age dominated by 'Apparats' that broadcast every thought and transaction. Lenny works for 'Post-Human Services,' offering digital immortality to the super-rich, while secretly yearning for genuine connection. He falls desperately in love with Eunice Park, a twenty-four-year-old Korean-American woman who embodies the superficiality of her generation, fluent in 'Images' and 'Assertiveness,' and perpetually 'livecasting' her life. As New York City devolves into riots, under constant threat of Chinese creditors foreclosing on the nation, Lenny tries to convince Eunice that true humanity and love still hold value amidst the chaos of a dying civilization, forcing them both to confront what it means to be alive in a world that has forgotten how to feel.
