Synopsis

In the harrowing sequel to "The Three-Body Problem," humanity faces an existential threat from the Trisolarians, whose invasion fleet is four centuries away. While Earth races against time, the alien sophons have sabotaged all scientific progress and communication, ensuring that no human thought can be hidden from them. The desperate response is the Wallfacer Project, granting four individuals immense power to devise secret strategies, hidden even from humanity, to counter the impending doom. Among the chosen are influential statesmen and scientists, but also the enigmatic and reluctant Chinese astronomer, Luo Ji. Baffled by his selection, Luo Ji quickly discovers he is the only Wallfacer that Trisolaris actively seeks to eliminate. As he grapples with his newfound status and the terrifying implications of the 'dark forest' theory – the chilling truth about civilizations in the universe – Luo Ji must uncover a strategy to save Earth, even as he navigates suspicion, sabotage, and the overwhelming despair of humanity's dire predicament.
