Synopsis

On a chilling Halloween night in King's Lynn, forensic archaeologist Dr. Ruth Galloway finds herself drawn into a perplexing double murder investigation. What begins as a macabre museum event—the unveiling of a medieval bishop's bones—takes a dark turn when the museum's curator is discovered dead beside the ancient coffin. Shortly after, the wealthy owner of the museum is found deceased in his stables, raising suspicions of foul play. DCI Harry Nelson, unconvinced by the initial assessments of natural causes, soon finds his path intersecting once again with Ruth's. As menacing letters surface, the mystery deepens, intertwining ancient bones with unsettling contemporary secrets. Ruth and Nelson must navigate a complex web involving Aboriginal skulls, drug smuggling, and the profound concept of The Dreaming to uncover the truth behind these sinister deaths, all while their own loyalties and convictions are put to the ultimate test.
