Synopsis

When a catastrophic malfunction hurls Gwendolen Ingolfsson, a genetically engineered Draka, into a parallel Earth, her mission is clear: establish a bridgehead for her conquering Race. In this 'antique' reality, billions of unaltered humans are ripe for subjugation, and Gwendolen, a product of Draka supremacy, is uniquely positioned to exploit their vulnerability. Her task is to reconstruct a 'molehole' device, ensuring her people's arrival. Meanwhile, on this unsuspecting Earth, veteran Detective-Lieutenant Henry Carmaggio is plunged into a nightmare. Accustomed to violence, Carmaggio finds himself tracking an inhuman predator, a being of terrifying efficiency that slaughters with the ease of a leopard among sheep. As the body count rises and the true nature of the threat becomes terrifyingly clear, Carmaggio races against time to stop a silent invasion that promises to turn his entire world into a hunting ground, all while an alien intelligence plans humanity's downfall.

Critical Reception

"Long considered a foundational, albeit controversial, work within the alternate history and military science fiction genres, 'Drakon' provokes intense debate with its unflinching portrayal of genetic supremacy and conquest."
