Synopsis

On a sweltering summer's day, John Cole abruptly abandons his mundane life in London, leaving his deserted bookshop behind. His journey takes an unexpected turn when his car breaks down on an isolated road, forcing him to seek help. He stumbles upon a sprawling, dilapidated country estate where he is met with an uncanny welcome. The residents of this peculiar community not only know his name but claim to have been anticipating his arrival and have a room prepared for him. As John is drawn deeper into their strange world, he encounters a cast of enigmatic characters: the domineering matriarch Hester, the childlike siblings Alex and Claire, the mercurial Eve, the disillusioned former preacher Elijah, and the hostile, chain-smoking Walker. John finds himself trapped in a disorienting labyrinth of secrets, as the line between reality and delusion blurs. He must unravel the true intentions of these strangers and understand why he has been chosen, before he loses himself entirely to their unsettling embrace.
