Synopsis

Returning to her childhood neighborhood in Bristol after years abroad, Joey Mullen finds herself temporarily living with her brother and his family, new husband in tow. Her attention is immediately captured by the charismatic head teacher next door, Tom Fitzwilliam, a man twice her age. What begins as an innocent, intense fascination with the seemingly perfect family man quickly escalates into an unsettling obsession. Joey believes she's the only one observing Tom, unaware of the complex secrets hidden beneath his charming exterior. As she is drawn deeper into his orbit, the true horror unfolds: multiple eyes are fixed on Tom, and, more disturbingly, someone is watching *her*. Lisa Jewell masterfully crafts a tense psychological thriller, weaving a tangled web of secrets, betrayals, and voyeurism, culminating in a shocking climax that reveals the deadly consequences of unchecked desire and hidden truths.
