Synopsis

In the midst of a Chicago Christmas, Inspector Richard Queen attends a conference on gangland violence, but it's his brilliant son, amateur sleuth Ellery Queen, who stumbles upon a case far more bizarre and compelling. Bored by his holiday, Ellery is galvanized by news from rural Arroyo, West Virginia: a schoolmaster has been found brutally beheaded and crucified. Convinced this is a puzzle worthy of his intellect, Ellery persuades his father to join him on an eastward journey. Upon arrival, they discover the victim was an eccentric atheist, seemingly without enemies. What initially appears to be the work of a sadistic cult quickly spirals into something far more sinister as more victims, all killed in the same horrific manner, begin to surface across the globe. As the Queens race against time, their investigation transcends local oddities to uncover a chilling international conspiracy that demands every ounce of their deductive genius to unravel the terrifying truth behind the Christmas crucifixion.
