Synopsis

In the grimy, treacherous heart of Low Town—the most squalid district in the entire Thirteen Lands—Warden, once a respected agent of the formidable Black House, now presides over its depravity. His youth was marked by terrible deeds, many executed under the Black House’s chilling authority, leaving an indelible stain on his soul. Now older, with vultures circling and Low Town itself rapidly changing, Warden realizes his time is running out. To escape the relentless grip of his past and the suffocating embrace of the ghetto, he must confront the very demons that forged him. His desperate bid for freedom leads him through a gauntlet of dangers: a hospital filled with lunatics, a burgeoning conspiracy against the corrupt new king, and the ever-present threat of Low Town’s thieves and murderers. Yet, the true obstacle lies deeper, personified by the one individual whose betrayal he never anticipated—the woman who left him shattered and bitter, shaping him into the man he is today. "She Who Waits" is the ultimate reckoning, holding the key to his past and his last, slim hope for the future.
