Synopsis

In 'Valiant,' the fourth installment of Jack Campbell's acclaimed Lost Fleet series, legendary Captain John 'Black Jack' Geary continues his desperate mission to lead the Alliance fleet home through the heart of enemy Syndicate space. Revived after a century of suspended animation, Geary's tactical brilliance has secured vital victories, earning him both admiration and dangerous envy among his fellow officers. As the fleet faces dwindling resources and relentless pursuit, Geary makes a controversial and seemingly insane decision: to return to the treacherous Lakota Star System, a place where the Syndics nearly annihilated them. This audacious gamble is a desperate bid to buy precious time for the beleaguered fleet to regroup and prepare for the inevitable, overwhelming Syndic counterattack. Yet, the external threat is mirrored by growing internal dissent. Geary battles not only the enemy but also a faction within his own ranks seeking a change of command. With the survival of the entire Alliance fleet hanging by a thread, Geary must rally his forces and confront betrayal, knowing that unity is their only hope against being torn apart by the relentless Syndic forces.
