Synopsis

Captain John 'Black Jack' Geary, a legendary figure from the Alliance-Syndic war's early days, is astonishingly revived after a century in survival hibernation. Presumed dead following a heroic last stand, Geary awakens to find himself revered as a mythic hero, his exploits immortalized in every schoolchild's mind. Thrust into command of a struggling Alliance Fleet on the brink of annihilation, Geary is appalled by the hero-worship and the stark reality of a war that has dramatically changed. Despite his discomfort with his own legend, duty calls. His critical mission: retrieve a stolen Syndic hypernet key, the Alliance's last hope for victory. As he navigates the complex politics of a century-old conflict and the impossible expectations of his crew, Geary must not only lead his fleet against a relentless enemy but also reconcile the man he is with the 'Black Jack' legend he has become, all while striving to bring his forces home alive.
