Synopsis

Jody never planned on an immortal, nocturnal existence, but after a mysterious attack leaves her waking up in a dumpster with a severe sunburn, superhuman strength, and an undeniable craving for blood, she realizes the decision has been made for her: she's a vampire. Navigating the pitfalls of her new, undead life in San Francisco proves challenging, especially when it comes to finding sustenance without causing a scene. Enter C. Thomas Flood, a hopeful writer and night clerk at a Safeway, whose primary source of entertainment is frozen-turkey bowling. Their paths collide when Jody, desperate and hungry, wanders into his store. What begins as an unusual encounter quickly blossoms into an unlikely partnership and a darkly humorous romance. Tommy finds himself drawn into Jody's strange new world, helping her understand her powers, evade vampire hunters, and unravel the mystery of her transformation, all while trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy amidst the chaotic, bloodsucking reality she now inhabits.
