Synopsis

In the fourth volume of Robert Jordan's monumental 'The Wheel of Time' saga, 'The Shadow Rising', Rand al'Thor grapples with his identity as the Dragon Reborn and the looming prophecies that guide his destiny. Now wielding Callandor, Rand must seek deeper truths among the warrior people known as the Aiel, journeying to the formidable Aiel Waste. Accompanied by Moiraine Damodred and the rest of his companions, he enters the sacred, forbidden city of Rhuidean. There, Rand confronts ancient secrets and fragmented memories, passing through a ter'angreal that reveals the very origins of the Aiel and the intricate tapestry of his own past lives. The Aiel await a sign: Rand's return with the dragon marks, validating him as He Who Comes With the Dawn—their prophesied Chief of Chiefs—or his permanent disappearance. This pivotal journey will force Rand to embrace the terrifying weight of his heritage, learn to wield the One Power, and unravel the true meaning of the prophecies that threaten to either save or shatter the world.
