Synopsis

Lincoln Rhyme, the quadriplegic forensic genius, finds himself in an unprecedented moral and professional quandary when his own cousin, Jon’s, DNA is found at the scene of a brutal murder. Initially reluctant to get involved in what appears to be an open-and-shut case, Rhyme soon discovers unsettling patterns. The initial investigation unearths a series of similar, seemingly unrelated incidents, all involving individuals whose digital lives have been systematically erased and rewritten. As Rhyme and his partner, Amelia Sachs, delve deeper into a labyrinthine world of data manipulation and identity theft, they uncover a terrifying conspiracy involving a shadowy organization that uses personal information as a weapon, framing innocents and orchestrating crimes with surgical precision.
