Sourcery

Synopsis

In a world already teetering on the brink of magical saturation, the impossible happens: an eighth son of an eighth son is born, not just a wizard, but a Sourcerer—a living source of raw magic. This prodigy, named Coin, wields power beyond imagining, effortlessly bending reality to his will. The Unseen University, bastion of wizardry, is swiftly overtaken, its ancient traditions crumbling under the Sourcerer's absolute authority. As Coin sets his sights on reforming the entire Discworld according to his grand, albeit naïve, vision, only one utterly unqualified wizard manages to slip through his powerful grasp: Rincewind. Reluctantly, the perpetually terrified and incompetent wizard finds himself saddled with the most crucial task imaginable—to transport a sentient hat, the very embodiment of wizardry itself, across the Disc to safety. If Rincewind fails, not only will wizardry as they know it perish, but the ensuing magical war could well spell the end of the entire world. Pratchett masterfully blends high fantasy stakes with his signature absurd humor, exploring themes of destiny, power, and the inherent chaos of the Discworld.
