Kill Your Friends

Synopsis

Set in the electrifying, cocaine-fueled London music scene of 1997, John Niven's 'Kill Your Friends' plunges into the depraved world of Steven Stelfox, a cynical and ruthlessly ambitious A&R man. As New Labour rises and Britpop dominates the airwaves, Stelfox navigates a landscape of excessive parties, endless self-gratification, and a desperate hunt for the next chart-topping hit. Driven by insatiable greed and an utter contempt for humanity, he will stop at nothing to advance his career. However, as the industry's landscape shifts and his once-unassailable position begins to crumble, Stelfox finds himself pushed to increasingly extreme and ultimately murderous lengths. This darkly satirical novel is a brutal, unapologetic expose of the music business, painting a chilling portrait of ambition gone savagely awry and the moral decay that can fester at the heart of an industry obsessed with success.

Critical Reception
