Synopsis

In "Not Dead Enough," the gripping third installment of Peter James's Detective Superintendent Roy Grace series, Brighton is rocked by the brutal murder of beautiful socialite Katie Bishop. The prime suspect, her husband Brian, possesses an ironclad alibi, placing him sixty miles away in bed at the time of the crime. This seemingly impossible contradiction plunges Detective Superintendent Roy Grace into a perplexing investigation. As Grace delves deeper, he confronts the chilling possibility that Brian Bishop has achieved the unthinkable: being in two places at once. Is this a sophisticated case of identity theft, or is Bishop a master manipulator, weaving a web of deceit around a heinous act? The facade of the Bishops' outwardly perfect life quickly crumbles under Grace's relentless scrutiny, revealing dark secrets and a world far more sinister than it appears. But as Grace uncovers the unsettling truth behind Katie's death, the case begins to dangerously entangle with his own fragile private world, threatening its destruction and pushing him to his limits. The line between truth and illusion blurs, leaving Grace to navigate a labyrinth of lies where nothing is as it seems.
