Synopsis

In the acclaimed October Daye series, "An Artificial Night" plunges the changeling knight Toby Daye into her most harrowing quest yet. When children, both fae and mortal, begin to vanish without a trace, all signs point to the legendary and terrifying Blind Michael, master of the Wild Hunt. The crisis hits home when the young son of Toby's closest friends is abducted, leaving Toby no choice but to pursue the elusive villain. She must navigate a perilous journey through three magical roads to Blind Michael's realm, with the chilling stipulation that each path can only be taken once. Time is against her, marked by a flickering candle that serves as her sole protection and guide. Should it burn out before she can rescue the stolen children, Toby faces an inescapable fate at Michael's hands. Adding to her anxieties is the sudden appearance of May Daye, her personal Fetch and a harbinger of Toby's own demise, casting an ominous shadow over an already desperate mission where failure means not only the children's loss but Toby's ultimate end.
